What About Business?

by Stan

I believe that sustainable development must involve some kind of free market development. Trading and exchanging goods is a natural human activity. It has been part of human interactions since the beginning of time. For development to be effective there must be economic growth and benefits to society. Business offers many benefits that charity does not. We should be willing participants in an open exchange rather than simply donors or recipients.

Business Really Is Best!

I totally agree with you! I have spent lots of time and money and energy working donations and giveaway programs and have seen little evidence that they are helping at all! I think engaging the poor to help them become self sufficient in some kind of private enterprise would be a whole lot more effective.
